Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (more commonly referred to as DOMS), is a condition that is often seen following participation in physical activity after some time off. 🏃🏋️‍♀️🚴‍♀️

It can usually be describes as sore, achy and heavy muscles, occurring typically 48-72 hours after exercise.

Tips to provide some relief:
- Osteopathic treatment
- Gentle massage 💆
- Light exercise
- Apply a hot or cold compress

Is prevention possible?
Not always.. but to reduce the severity, you can try things such as:
- Thorough warm up and cool down before/after activity
- Active recovery
- Gradual increase in exercise load/intensity
