Scapular Glides

The following movement patterns have been developed following Gary Ward’s Anatomy-in-Motion, Flow Motion Model®

This is a great exercise to get your shoulder blades (Scapula) doing something!!

So many people lack movement here and the knock-on effect is that you will have a stiff ribcage and back.  That means you will probably struggle to breathe deeply and also the consequences can mean neck pain and headaches among the regular back issues people get.

HOT TIPS:

  • Take you time and feel the movements
  • Meditative pace
  • let your body flow with it BUT don’t use your body to create the movement
  • think of your thumbs rotating around
  • arms move in opposite directions
  • Enjoy!
